Your Blog in April

(I heard some kiddies liked this show?)

Yesterday, on Free Comic Book Day, an international holiday celebrating the fall of the French in Puebla1, Against Moe turned one month old. I wanted to take today to look back at the last month and talk a bit about where we're headed. Also, I only watched 3 episodes of Dragon Ball this week so I'm skipping today's digest.

Output

In 30 days, we released 28 First Glance posts providing sometimes genuine, sometimes farcical analyses of television series based entirely on impressions from their first episodes. On top of this, we covered 9 episodes of the original Dragon Ball and put out two high-effort editorials. Some of our First Glance posts were more successful than others; taking some reader feedback into account, I will try to be clearer about my subjectivity going forward. I will also try to say at least one useful thing in each First Glance, even if the rest of the post is a joke. (Finding the value can be a fun game yall play.)

The Team is Gathering...

I used "we" so much in the previous section not because I'm aiming for grandeur, but because we are officially plural! SunshineDuk and KMS have officially joined the Against Moe team. SunshineDuk will be primarily covering the Fate franchise, with the occasional foray beyond; KMS will be handling anime film reviews. (You can already request films for him to review on our requests page!) Technically one of our April posts wasn't written by me. The ratio's going to improve in coming weeks as we find our rhythm and ramp up our coordination. Which brings me to...

Upcoming Schedule

SunshineDuk and KMS expect to be posting approximately once a week once they hit their stride. I am still aiming to put out editorials semiweekly, and Dragon Ball digests weekly. Given that Against Moe is dedicated to a daily release schedule, this means we'll be plugging the gaps with 3-4 First Glances per week. Feedback on schedule is welcome in the comments, or on Patreon.

Against Moe on Patreon

We grew from 0 to 2 patrons in April. Against Moe's first goal—$2/month to cover domain named costs—has been met, and we can only go up from here! Further funding will go to streaming subscriptions for our writers so that we can keep doing our jobs with ease and energy.

You

Thank you! You are the best. See you again tomorrow!

Oh, you want to help? Please request titles for our First Glance category, share our posts on Facebook, Twitter, etc., and tell your anime-loving (or anime-hating!) friends to follow us. We reply to every comment and love audience engagement. Cheers!
