First Glance: Inferno Cop

Inferno Cop is a slideshow, for the most part, with close to zero animation. The GIF above is as action-packed as it gets. I criticized Sailor Moon for not animating characters walking; Inferno Cop doesn't animate characters doing anything. There's his fiery mane, and there're some real simple translation effects, and that's about it. As for the content... the first episode is 2 minutes long. The first minute is devoted to trite, stereotypical situations: muggers approach a helpless woman, the corrupt police look the other way. The second minute is ... I guess it's supposed to be something, since it's the introduction of INFERNO COP, the cop from hell who's here to exact revenge on a bunch of cultists, but honestly the content falls as flat as its presentation. There's just nothing there. I can't even mock the show. In its emptiness it is also devoid of any critical flaws. I didn't laugh, nor did I cry, nor was the whole thing so damn stupid I'll remember it forever1. Such is life, I suppose.

(By the way, if he's from hell, does that mean there's a state in hell? Whose will does he enforce? Hell = confirmed class society?)

Recommend: No.

  1. I love this…I mean the post. Inferno cop just makes a good avatar, and it’s good because it just sits there. It’s fascinating to me that this is like Trigger’s first official thing. I mean, wow, how did we get to Darling in the Franxx?

    1. Well, Darling in the Franxx is actually next up on my requests, so I guess it’s back to back Trigger! 😛
