First Glance: Astro Fighter Sunred

If Inferno Cop and One Punch Man went back in time and had a kid, well, first of all, the world would work very differently from how we think it does. But secondly, that kid would be Astro Fighter Sunred. It combines the latter's superhero parody with the former's terrible production, but somehow it turns out alright, as if it learned from its parents' mistakes, overcame their bad parenting, and transcended the family. Its first episode, clocking it at 12 minutes (the average of its parents' episode times), is consistently funny and basically a delight to watch. The production is only slightly better than Inferno Cop, with minimal animation, but it's totally watchable. Characters kind of move, and the visual story is grokkable.

If you want a comedic series of vignettes about polite super villains and lazy heroes, this is the comedic series of vignettes I would recommend. I don't have much more to say than that... it's light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek fun, with a healthy dose of absurdity.

Recommend: Yes.
